A tweed jacket is THE traditional layering piece for fall - for guys and girls. With it's nubby texture and cozy warmth, it's the perfect early autumn outerwear or bitter cold layer. And that texture also makes it an ideal "non-solid" solid to pair with other patterns and mix it up a bit.

Check out below for three ways to take his tweed blazer out of the office and into the weekend.  (click here to see her looks)  Have a bigger need for tweed?  Go to the "His need for tweed" Pinterest page for more tweed-y options.

GREY AND BROWN

Meeting the in-laws or brunch with the boss?  Start with a traditional foundation, then add some personality.  A grey tweed blazer and brown accessories are ideal building blocks - and a bold check shirt and unexpected sweater keep them on their toes.

Elevate date night beyond the ordinary with a medium blue tweed blazer and off-white jeans.   Then pile on the blues with a printed shirt and cashmere cardigan; black boots with attitude ensure you’re set to impress.

NAVY AND BRIGHT

Grab a tweed jacket when you’re running around town and you’ve instantly upped the ante.  Raise it even further with brightly colored cords and a striped sweater – you’ll be sure to turn heads, in a very good way.
