Sometimes all you need is a button-down and a pair of shorts. At least that was the theme for most of my packing list for our recent trip to Arizona and Palm Springs. I brought 3 pairs of shorts - yellow, white and blue - and 2 tops for each. Here's what I paired with the blue shorts.
I'm a sucker for tonal blue outfits, and my vacation wardrobe is no exception. A fun thing to do with tonal or monochromatic outfits is to add a pop of complementary color. I popped an orange belt with one outfit, and an orangey-camel one with the other.
Versatile shoes are the best choice when packing prudently for a vacation - but sometimes, you just need a shoe with personality. These patterned espadrilles were a % off markdown purchase from last summer, and I was thrilled to find them. They add punch to an otherwise subtle outfit, and since they're based in neutrals, they're more wearable than you may think.
