White shorts are the obvious choice for a summer vacation, so they were one of the first things in my bag for our road trip to Arizona and Palm Springs. Here's how I wore them twice during the trip.
The heat was pervasive in Arizona, definitely hotter than Palm Springs - so the AZ outfits challenged my normal layering ways.....
When layers are minimal, it takes a little more work to make an outfit interesting. One way to do that is with contrast - pair light colors with dark colors to add some tension, and then use accessories to kick it up a notch.
Espadrilles are a relatively new thing for me, and I like them as an alternative to man-sandals. It's a personal thing, but I have yet to find a pair of sandals that I like on myself, and it's so rare that I would wear them that I am not willing to invest. But I did find a few pairs of espadrilles last summer, and they've become my go-to when it's hot.
