Back in October, my friend Kim and I took turns styling each other - and we so loved how it turned out, we decided to do it again for holiday - this time, with a nod to parties and entertaining. Kim and I used to work together at the Gap (she in graphic design, me in visual merchandising and marketing) and we'd do our daily breakfast run together and check out each other's looks. I've loved her style forever, so I let her into my closet to create a couple of looks for me. (And stay tuned tomorrow to see what I styled for her!)
Kim is an accomplished graphic designer and fashion journalist - so if you what to know what's what in fashion, check her out on instagram, twitter, facebook, and her fabulous blog.
"Sometimes guys have a tough time deciding what to wear to a holiday party. A suit may seem too stuffy, while jeans too casual. Camo has been a huge trend for fall for both men and women, so why not dress up a pair of slim camo chinos with a navy velvet blazer? Keep the rest of the pieces simple, like a charcoal sweater and light blue shirt. To finish the look, I added matte black wingtips, a white pocket square, and if you like, add a dotted bow tie."

"Paul and his partner have a beautiful home, and they do lots of entertaining around the holidays. With that in mind, I picked the pieces for the second look knowing he would be at home and likely cooking or serving guests, but wanting to look polished. I love a good chunky knit, and this cream one was a good base for the plaid pants. Instead of a heavier shoe, I chose these velvet Toms, which echo a smoking slipper…comfortable yet stylish."
